Fundraiser or Wish List Support lends a vital component to the success of the Tribal ground gardens in Nelson County, VA. Tribal gardens also help support their local food pantry. This is a project we can all feel good about.  

With over 2,300 citizens, the Monacan Nation is a federally recognized tribe. Bear Mountain in Amherst County has been the home of the Monacan people for more than 10,000 years. The earliest written histories of Virginia record that in 1607, the James River Monacan (along with their Mannahoac allies on the Rappahannock River) controlled the area between the Fall Line in Richmond and the Blue Ridge Mountains.

The mission of the Tribe is to preserve Rappahannock culture, social structures, and political structures while educating the public on the rich contributions that Rappahannocks have made and continue to make to Virginia and the Nation.  The Rappahannock Tribe welcomes the public to experience the rich history and serene atmosphere of the Tribal Center and the Return to the River program, reflecting the culture and traditions their people have enjoyed for thousands of years. It is a welcomed alternative to the bustle of city surroundings and everyday life. 

The garden "Wish List" can be accessed and items can be sent directly to the Tribe from your Amazon account. 


Fundraiser or Wish List Donations will help the essential work goin on at the tribal center in St Stephens Church VA. Historical preservation of native food ways & a modern resilience garden for perseverance is under way for 2021.

 The Upper Mattaponi Indian Tribe is centered in King William County.   Today the Upper Mattaponi own 32 acres of land and are a proud and humble people of strong character and values, with much optimism and hope for the future. The tribe was officially recognized by the Commonwealth of Virginia

 The Upper Mattaponi Indian Tribe is centered in King William County.   Today the Upper Mattaponi own 32 acres of land and are a proud and humble people of strong character and values, with much optimism and hope for the future. The tribe was officially recognized by the Commonwealth of Virginia on March 25, 1983, and received Federal recognition in 2018. 

The Upper Mattaponi Indian Tribe is forging ahead with an ambitious growing operation in King William, VA. Please support their operation by helping with much needed items from their WISH List. This project with strengthen the tribe and create a resource for the community for fresh local produce.
